Dnia 16 grudnia 2019 roku prof. dr hab. Grzegorz Wrochna został powołany przez premiera Mateusza Morawieckiego na stanowisko podsekretarza stanu resortu nauki. Profesor od 2011 roku jest członkiem Rady Naukowej Instytutu Fizyki Plazmy i Laserowej Mikrosyntezy.
Nowy wiceminister jest profesorem nauk fizycznych. Ukończył studia na Wydziale Fizyki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Stopień naukowy doktora nauk fizycznych uzyskał w 1991 roku. W latach 1991–1998 koordynował prace projektowe i wykonawcze systemu wyzwalania (tzw. tryger mionowy) w Europejskim Laboratorium Fizyki Cząstek CERN w Genewie.

The Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion invites you to participate in the 15th edition of the Summer School of Plasma Physics (http://kudowaschool.ipplm.pl/) which will take place on 29 June - 3 July 2020 in Kudowa-Zdrój.
The school is aimed at young scientists both from Poland and abroad. Lectures will be given by outstanding specialists from leading research centers.
Topics of classes will concern various aspects of fusion energy, plasma experiments, its technology and diagnostics. Issues related to functioning of plasma thrusters will also be discussed.
Enrollment will start on 16 December 2019 and will last until 23 March 2020.
You can register through https://kudowaschool.ipplm.pl/registration
Organizer: Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion

Dr inż. Paweł Gąsior z Instytutu Fizyki Plazmy i Laserowej Mikrosyntezy został wyróżniony za udział w pracach zespołu Wydziału Elektroniki i Technik Informacyjnych Politechniki Warszawskiej.
Opisano w nim wszystkie etapy związane z prawidłowym przeprowadzaniem eksperymentów, począwszy od zaplanowania eksperymentu i właściwego doboru aparatury pomiarowej poprzez analizy niepewności pomiarowych aż do krytycznego podejścia do przeprowadzanego doświadczenia i uzyskanych wyników. Studenci znajdą tu także wyjaśnienia wszystkich nowych pojęć i zasady działania nieznanej im aparatury.

Pod koniec września w Warszawie odbył się 23. Festiwal Nauki.
Odwiedzili oni laboratorium układu plasma focus PF1000U, Laboratorium Plazmowych Napędów Satelitarnych, Laboratorium Laserów Wielkiej Mocy oraz laboratorium badań i zastosowań oddziaływań laser-tarcza.
