European FlagA contest has been launched by the European Commission to reward three women innovators who have achieved outstanding innovations and brought them to market. The deadline for application is 20 September 2011, 5:00 p.m. (Brussels time).

Scientists following the first plasma attempt after the 2009-2011 shutdown.First plasma in JET after the 2009-2011 shutdown. After all these months scientists are back at JET. After lunch on Wednesday 24th August, the first attempt to produce a plasma was extremely successful.

Aomori, Japan (15 June 2011). On 14 and 15 June 2011, the ITER Council, the Governing Body of the ITER Organization, convened for its eighth meeting. The two-day meeting in Aomori, Japan, brought together representatives from the seven ITER Members: China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States under the chairmanship of Evgeny Velikhov (Russia).
