At 10 am on that day the last magnet module was joint to the rest of the machine base, thus the torus of Wendelstein 7-X stellarator was closed.

This operation has a very symbolic meaning. The vessel segments have to be welded now and after assembling many other large components, the water cooled in-vessel system among them, the stellarator W7-X will be completed in 2014 as it is planned now.
