Abstract

We study an extension of the Stetzkamp’s approach for an accurate evaluation of ion distribution function applying the Sauer’s harmonic analysis of the two-component interface-like system being an equivalent representation of the plasma. The ion velocity distribution function is evaluated using the NVD (nonlinear voltage division) approach giving new insights into a problem and its practical implementation, employing the RFEAs (retarding field energy analyzers) and sophisticated lock-in amplifier simultaneously. Finally, a rigorous numerical approaches are discussed being a cutting-edge tools for an experimental data evaluation and post-processing (including the higher-order derivatives’ evaluation of a general non-evenly distributed discrete sets).
