Participation in the NCN SONATA-21 „Plasma state classification and abnormal event detection in nuclear fusion devices with Symmetrized Dot Pattern and Machine Learning applied to time series of tokamak plasma radiation measurements”.

A person applying for employment should have a doctoral degree in the field of exact and natural sciences (physical sciences) or a related one. A person applying for employment is expected to possess:

• Extensive expertise in plasma X-ray diagnostics, both in data analysis and in understanding the response of the apparatus and the physical interpretation of the results.
• Proven ability to integrate data from multiple diagnostic systems.
• Knowledge of spoken and written English, enabling communication in an international team and scientific literature.

IPPLM offers:

• full-time employment under an employment contract for the duration of the NCN project and a basic salary of PLN 10,000 gross,
• work in a team of both experienced and young scientists (including PhD students),
• improving qualifications and the possibility of scientific development,
• participation in scientific cooperation carried out in important scientific centers in Poland and abroad.

The period of involvement in the implementation of the project covers 17 months, the possibility of starting from October 15, 2026.

A person for the position of a researcher should meet the following criteria:

1. Enjoy full public rights.
2. Hold a doctoral degree obtained no earlier than 12 years prior to January 1st of the year of employment in the project (this period may be extended accordingly in line with NCN rules regarding career breaks).
3. Know English to the extent that allows you to use professional literature, prepare scientific publications and communicate in a professional environment.

A person applying for employment for the position of a researcher should submit the following documents and letters:

1. Application for employment as an assistant professor (post-doc) M/F.
2. Cover letter.
3. A detailed scientific curriculum vitae, including information on completed internships and scientific and professional achievements.
4. Diploma of graduation, diploma of obtaining a doctoral degree.
5. A personal questionnaire with a Statement of consent to the processing of personal data for recruitment purposes.
6. Declarations: about no criminal record and about additional employment.
7. A commitment not to take up additional employment or activity without the consent of the director at the time of employment.

The qualifications of a person applying for employment at the IPPLM are assessed by the Selection (Recruitment) Committee on the basis of the documents and materials provided and the opinion of the manager of the plant in which the candidate is to be employed. In addition, the head of the plant and/or the Selection (Recruitment) Committee may invite the person applying for employment for an interview.

The Selection (Recruitment) Committee may ask the applicant to submit additional materials concerning his/her qualifications and scientific achievements.

An applicant may submit to the Selection (Recruitment) Committee other additional materials attesting to qualifications, scientific achievements and information about interests not related to the research specified in the competition notice.

Documents submitted by a person applying for a scientific position at the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion will not be returned. The Committee reserves the right to contact selected persons.
